Castle Bedrooms
Bedrooms
Birkhill has 13 double rooms, 2 singles and 1 twin room with the castle all of which have their own unique identities.
Our stable block, just a short walk from the castle, provides an additional 8 bedrooms if needed.
Beech Suite
This wonderful and generous room on the castle’s first floor is full of character and victorian charm. The late Prince Phillip would sleep here regularly on visits to Birkhill.
The room is joined to the Beech single room and both rooms share a bathroom with walk-in shower.
Cherry Room
This is one of our larger rooms on the top floor with views out to the River Tay.
It has a super king bed that can be split into a twin bed and has a private bathroom with large, walk-in shower.
Willow Room
Situated on the first floor, this large king room has a private bathroom with walk-in shower, two wardrobes, and a great view out overlooking the Tay.
Maple Room
A large en-suire double room with excellent northerly views over the Tay and the woodland.
The bed is an extra long Super-King and the room features a large en-suite with walk-in shower and free-standing bathtub.
Chestnut Room
Located on the second floor, the Chestnut room offers ample space to make yourself at home. It has a large en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower.
Oak Room
Located on the first floor, the Oak room has a super-king bed and shares a bathroom with walk-in shower with the sycamore room.
It also has an adjoining door to the nursery, which makes it a super option for parents or nannies who want to be a bit closer to their kids.
Cedar Room
This room is comprised of a super-king bed and also sits on the first floor.
It enjoys its own bathroom with walk-in shower on a mezzanine level up the stairs.
The Birch Suite
Our second suite, Birch, comes with an adjoining single room, an en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower and really special views out over the garden and towards the landscapes beyond.
The main room is anchored by a four poster super king bed.
Rowan Room
Rowan is located on the second floor, enjoys a lot of space, and offers more fantastic views.
The walls are furnished with a collection of drawings from around the estate – an opportunity to step back in time.
The en-suite contains both a free-standing bath and a walk-in shower.
Hawthorn Room
Hawthorn is a spacious second floor room with good storage and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower.
The bed is super-king.
Birch Single
This calming single room is attached to the Birch Suite, and shares its bathroom with walk-in shower.
Beech Single
This cosy single room is attached to the Beech Suite, and shares its bathroom with walk-in shower.
The Nursery
Located on the first floor, this room can sleep up to six children in two bunk beds and two pull-out beds.
We can also provide a cot if you need it. The room is joined to the Oak room, for parents who wish to stay a little closer.
Hazel Room
This colourful twin room is found on the second floor, and has a private bathroom with walk-in shower.
The bed can either be a small double or split into two single beds.
Sycamore Room
One of our smaller doubles, Sycamore offers wonderful views over two aspects and is situated on the first floor.
The room shares a bathroom with Oak with walk-in shower.
The room is the middle section of the tower so the walls are curved and makes for one of the most popular rooms.
Pine Room
Located on the second floor, Pine is one of our cosier rooms with a kingsize bed.
It has a small private bathroom with walk-in shower and a lovely woodland view.
Bathrooms
We recently re-fitted all our castle bathrooms. Each bathroom offers a walk-in shower, and some offer a free-standing bath to soak in.
Tower Double
This double height room faces to the south, and occupies the castle’s tower.
It also enjoys private access to the top of the tower, with the very best views across the grounds and much of Fife.
The room has a private bathroom across a hallway with walk-in shower.
Our stable rooms offer cosy, simple lodgings near the castle and make for a perfect overflow for larger parties or travelling staff.
We have 5 king rooms, 2 twins, and 1 double (UK sizing).
