Bedrooms
Birkhill Castle is a playfully-restored Victorian manor house in Fife, Scotland, available for exclusive hire for up to 30 guests (and an additional six children). Within the castle’s storied walls and rolling grounds, you and your guests will find plenty of space for special gatherings.
Beech Suite
This wonderful and generous room on the castle’s first floor is full of character and victorian charm. The late Prince Phillip would sleep here regularly on visits to Birkhill.
Celery Room

Willow Room
This large king room has a private bathroom, two wardrobes, and a great view out overlooking the Tay.
Maple Room
A large en-suire double room with excellent northerly views over the Tay and the woodland.
Chestnut Room
Located on the second floor, the Chestnut room offers ample space to make yourself at home. It has a bunch of storage, and an en-suite shower room.
Oak Room
Located on the first floor, the Oak room is a large king room with great storage. It also has an adjoining door to the nursery, which makes it a super option for parents who want to be a bit closer to their kids.
Cedar Room
This king room also sits on the first floor, and enjoys its own bathroom on a mezzanine level across the hall.
The Birch Suite
Our second suite, Birch comes with an adjoining single room, an en-suite bathroom, and really special views out over the garden and towards the landscapes beyond. The main room is anchored by a four poster bed.
Rowan Room
Rowan is located on the second floor, enjoys a lot of space, and offers more fantastic views. The walls are furnished with a collection of drawings from around the estate – an opportunity to step back in time. The en-suite contains both a bath and a shower.
Hawthorn Room
Hawthorn is a spacious double room with good storage, and a private bathroom with a large shower.
Birch Single
This calming single room is attached to the Birch Suite, and shares its bathroom.
Beech Single
This cosy single room is attached to the Beech Suite, and shares its bathroom.
The Nursery
Located on the first floor, this room can sleep up to six children in two bunk beds and two pull-out beds. We can also provide cots and high chairs, if you need them. The room is joined to the Oak room, for parents who wish to stay a little closer.
Hazel Twin
This colourful twin room is found on the second floor, and has a private shower room.
Sycamore Double
One of our smaller doubles, Sycamore offers wonderful views over two aspects. The room shares a bathroom with Oak, and can be closed off as a separate area.
Pine Double
Located on the second floor, Pine is one of our cosier double rooms, with bags of character. It has a private bathroom and a lovely woodland view.
Bathrooms
We recently re-fitted all our castle bathrooms. Each bathroom offers a walk-in shower, and some offer a free-standing bath to soak in.
Tower Double
This double height room faces to the south, and occupies the castle’s tower. It also enjoys private access to the top of the tower, with the very best views across the grounds and much of Fife. The room has a private bathroom across a hallway.
Our stable rooms offer cosy, simple lodgings near the castle. They make for a perfect overflow for larger parties or travelling staff. The rooms centre around a happy little courtyard. We have five king rooms, two twins, and one double. Some of these rooms share a bathroom, while others are en-suite.
