FAQs

HOW DO I GET TO BIRKHILL CASTLE?

Birkhill is located an hour transfer from Edinburgh International Airport. The nearest railway station is Leuchars, which has regular LNER services from London Kings Cross. The Caledonian Sleeper also stops here.

If you are driving then head for Cupar, Fife. Please contact the castle managers to determine location of driveway.

We can arrange a taxi service for you if you would like picked up and dropped off at the airport or train station.

There is also an airport in Dundee for private planes.

WHAT SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE AT THE CASTLE?

At Birkhill we offer several packages to choose from. If you would prefer a self-catered stay then we are more than happy to provide recommendations for activities and catering which you can then organise yourself. If you are looking to sit back and relax, we can offer you a fully serviced and catered package which comes with an award-winning chef and royal butler service. Your itinerary will then be arranged by our onsite castle managers who will speak with you directly to plan your stay day by day.

We strive to accommodate bespoke requests so please contact us at info@birkhilllcastle.com or contact one of our castle managers directly via the contact page or mobile numbers.

HOW FAR AHEAD ARE BOOKINGS REQUIRED?

We would recommend you book as soon as you have your dates confirmed so as not to miss out to another booking. Last minute bookings are subject to availability.

CAN YOU ARRANGE AN ITINERARY?

Many of our guests wish to explore the surrounding areas which we are more than happy to organise. We can arrange many different activities for you and your guests to take part in on and off the property. These include but are not limited to: golfing, clay pigeon shoots, deer stalking, fishing, spa days, various hands-on workshops, distillery tastings and tours, outlander tours, murder mystery nights and day trips.

I HAVE TO WORK DURING MY STAY, IS THIS POSSIBLE?

The castle has a reliable fibre wifi throughout the castle and bedrooms.

There are plenty of relaxing and quiet spots throughout the castle with beautiful views out onto the Tay.

Are dogs allowed?

Due to severe damages in the past, dogs are no longer allowed at Birkhill Castle. We are however, happy to review this depending on the dog so please ask us about this.

Also, bear in mind that we are on an estate with horses so we insist dog owners respect this and keep them under control at all times. There are also frequent gun shots during the winter months on neighbouring estates.
